Pruning for plant efficiency
Correctly identify non-viable leaves, leaves/shoots not compatible with ideal shape, or unlikely-to-thrive leaves

e.g. MARIGOLD – dense, lots of branches
Pick away or cut with shears lower vegetation
Pick away any vegetation hanging out of raft or onto other plants
Cut back vegetation to reshape plant into red wine-glass shape

e.g. GREEN/BRITTON SHISO
Remove fan leaves that get too large, compost

Removing branches that are growing outside of the plant space into other plants or positions
Cut back to lowest viable node
